Weekly Buy In Contest Results
Hey gang! Q4 is going well so far, let’s take a look at what we’ve done recently.
There have been three buy-ins since we last wrote. The first was at Flamboro on October 21st. Ten players entered, for a nice pool of $50. WinHarness and Valboro got out to an early lead, and would hold on until Fixer got to the front of the pack following the 5th. WinHarness took it back after 7, would stay in the lead after 9, until Fixer climbed edged him out in the finale. Congratulations Fixer on the win!
This past week, we had a couple of contests on Saturday. We played Belmont in the afternoon, and Hoosier in the evening. The tbred contest was a very, very low scoring affair. As a matter of fact, only three players had two wins on the day. Valboro would narrowly defeat Shenanigans in those low-scoring affair – congrats Valboro! During the evening, Acetime kicked in, on top of the pot we had from eleven participants. This was a bit higher scoring, with almost all players registering several wins on the card. FPL had the hot hand, and would come out on top with five wins and $94.20 across the board, beating Real Q by a tiny margin of 50 cents. Congrats Frankie, and great playing Peter! Thanks Archie for sponsoring.
No Favorite Challenge
We’re presently three weeks into the No Favorite Challenge. As we left off, Zwiebel had a lead going into the second week. Well, Mark would be the top player on the day last week, but would still finish $8.80 off the lead. The third card of the competition this week, Real Q was the top man, and with a strong showing, Mark would take the lead. Going into week 4, the top 5 in the standings are:
there are still two card left, so a lot can change. Good luck to all players participating!
NFL Weekly Buy In
Let’s take a look at our weekly NFL contests. Week 7 there were a couple of strong performances, by Cam and WinHarness respectively. It came down to the Sunday night game, and with a tie, Cam would finish with a record of 5-0-1 to beat Gooch‘s 5-1-0 – great going Frankie!. In Week 8, it was another bunch of solid showings. This time, we had a three-way tie after Sunday, and Monday Night Football would serve as the tiebreaker between Jack, Fixer, and Cam. The Broncos-Chiefs game was on the higher scoring end, and with over/unders of 51, Cam and Fixer would split the pot. Congrats guys!
Both HOTM competitions for October are in the books. Who won?
On the harness Circuit, FPL walks away with top honors. His $2.23 ROI led all players, and he had a very solid 28.26% win percentage, tied with WinHarness and Valboro for the lead. Among all thoroughbred players, WinHarness came out on top. His 29.67% win percentage and $1.83 ROI were the best of all players by a margin, and he consistently performed well card after card. Congrats Frankie and Gooch on the your HOTM victories!
Top Handicappers of the Week
Harness Handicapper of the Week: FPL was the top harness player last week, en route to his win in the buy-in Saturday. His 33.33% win percentage tied for the top mark during that period, and his $1.87 ROI was also the top figure. Great playing Frankie!
Thoroughbred Handicapper of the Week: FPL also had the best week among tbred players. After a rough start to the quarter on that circuit, he bounced back with a $1.72 ROI that led all tbred cappers last week, and tied for the lead with a 24.14% win percentage. WTG!
Long Shot of the Week: Perhaps not a huge surprise, but with the no favorites contest format, the top payout this week came in the that contest. Wednesday at Hoosier, in the final race of the day, Real Q would hit on the 8 horse, Summer Party. It paid $36.80 to win, and a staggering $55.00 across the board. How about that! Great pick Peter!
